Community Engagement in Huddersfield
As a long established, local employer we recognise that we have a responsibility to be a positive presence in and around our community.
We engage with our community in a variety of ways and work specifically with projects that involve children and young people.
Team Hare
We are a proud sponsor of the University of Huddersfield’s Team Hare Formula Student Racing Team. We support them by providing technical advice and support and also manufacture the precision made parts they require to build their car each year. We are pleased to work with this group of aspiring students and witness their success over the years.
Work Experience
We have a long history of providing support to local schools and colleges by hosting several work experience placements each year.
As part of his original vision for the company, Tom recognised the need to inspire and support young people who expressed an interest in engineering as a career. We also try to look to the future and as such encourage young engineering talent through our active apprenticeship programme. Projects for Young People
We regularly become involved with other projects for young people. We sponsor a local school to help them take part in an annual rocket car challenge – Race to the Line. This is a nationwide competition which requires students to design, make, test and race their rocket car, helping to develop their skills in maths, science and technologies.
We also offer support each year to a charity called Circus Starr. This is a circus with a purpose – to bring joy and laughter through their circus show to vulnerable or disadvantaged children within our community.
