What do we have in common with ‘Eddie the Eagle’?! We went to the British Turned Parts Manufacturers Association AGM to find out!

You might think British turned parts manufacturers wouldn’t have anything in common with the ski jump hero Eddie the Eagle Edwards….you might be surprised!

Last week we attended the AGM of the trade association for UK manufacturing companies producing precision turned parts and machined components – The BTMA.

As proud members of the BTMA we know the importance of attending the events, arranged by the association, to learn from and discuss with others in the same industry and those in supporting industries. The discussion and sharing of non-competitive information is extremely valuable, especially in these turbulent times.

Held in Manchester this year, we didn’t have far to go! Here we are at the after meeting dinner held within the festive surroundings of the Midland Hotel. We were entertained by the inspiring Michael Edwards or as he is more fondly know ‘Eddie the Eagle’ Edwards. As the unlikely  ski-jumping hero of the 1988 Winter Olympics, Eddie’s story is one of passion, resilience, overcoming challenges and a huge determination to improve and succeed. Herein lies the common ground with the BTMA members. Thank you to everyone at the British Turned Parts Manufacturers Association (BTMA) for an informative and enjoyable AGM. 😊
