Callum’s Apprenticeship Success

Posted in in News

We are very pleased that Callum has recently gained his apprenticeship certificate from the Institute of Apprenticeships and Technical Education.

Callum joined us in 2018 having secured a place at Kirklees College on their Engineering Technician – Machinist course. Callum has developed skills in manual machining, CNC Turning and CNC Milling. As Callum particularly enjoys the CNC Milling side of machining he has spent most of his time in this area developing his 4 axis and 5 axis machining skills. He is now focused on improving his programming skills and expanding his knowledge of CAD and CAM computer software.

Callum said of his apprenticeship experience, ‘Completing my apprenticeship at Thomas Brown Engineering has given me the opportunity to gain hands on experience in a wide variety of areas including CNC turning, CNC milling, manual machining, grinding and inspection processes. This has enabled me to gain full benefit from my course at college and the best start to my career.’

Well done Callum!
